postheadericon NPD: Video Game Spending Estimated At $5.9B In U.S. For First Quarter

The NPD Group said Monday that the total expenditure on play equipment, software, content and accessories in the United States was 5.9 billion dollars in Q1 2011 , an increase of 1.5 percent of total expenditures in the same quarter of fiscal 2010. This total includes $ 1.85 billion generated by the games used, rentals, subscriptions, digital downloads, games, social networking, downloadable content and mobile.
