IGDA executive director resigns, joins China's Tencent
Gordon Bellamy, CEO (now former) of the International Game Developers, has stepped outside the mission of joining Tencent , a popular Chinese online social services. Bellamy will remain on board of the IGDA (where he was before he took the post of executive director), but move away from daily operations. Dustin Clingman, the current president, will take over in the interim until a new director can not be found.
Tencent operates a number of popular online services and social games in China (including the largest online community of the world, QQ), and has recently been bringing together a collection of links to major Western game companies. Bellamy Twitter account now lists him as Director of Business Development and Industry Relations in Tencent. According to their latest tweets, which is "happy Tencent" and is "looking forward to working with the world."
