Insomniac unveiling next game at EA's E3 event
Ratchet & Clank developer confirmed its first multi-platform effort at Electronic Arts unveiled 'press conference on Monday afternoon.
While Insomniac Games is gearing up for new versions of its famous Ratchet & Clank and Resistance franchises later this year, \ the developer's biggest splash in this week 's Electronic Entertainment Expo, the unveiling of a project should be the gaming world knows nothing over just yet. The studio has now confirmed that it will be his new Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game Monday during Electronic Arts 'E3 press conference.
Insomniac 's multi-platform game won' t a new Ratchet & Clank, since Sony owns the property.
Originally revealed as part of the EA Partners program just over a year ago, the partnership was particularly noteworthy as it called for Insomniac to work for the first time on a non-Sony system. Explaining the move, Insomniac CEO Ted Price said the developer wanted to go multiplatform to reach as large an audience as it possibly could. Price also said the move marked a change in direction for the company, which had to that point been producing games on an annual basis. Starting with the EA Partners project, Price said Insomniac would be spending more time iterating and polishing its games.
The move to multiplatform development isn't Insomniac's only ongoing expansion. In March, the studio announced the opening of a new Facebook and mobile games division dubbed Insomniac Click.
Electronic Arts 'clock press conference starts at 12:30 PDT. As with all big E3 press conference, GameSpot will blog the event as it happens, and provide a live video stream of the process. Other visits GameSpot 's home page E3.
