06/02/2010 REVIEW: Alpha Protocol is a Role-Playing Game Without the Game Obsidian Entertainment formed after the closure of Black Isle Studios (creators of the Fallout and Baulder's Gate: Dark Alliance series). They went on to carry on the role-playing game (RPG) legacy with notable games such as Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II. Obsidian has been working on what they dub as an espionage RPG called Alpha Protocol (AP) that incorporates stealth, action and choice driven conversations to create a world of international intrigue and consequence. The story follows Michael Thorton, an agent recruited to the super secret government program named Alpha Protocol to track down missiles that got in the hands of dangerous terrorists. For an RPG, AP gets the role playing right, but the game part doesn't deliver.
