04/13/2010 Study: Game Playing Visual improves awareness

Psychology student at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, recently conducted a study of gamers, who have shown that playing games helped to increase the visual response and vigilance.

Christian Peterson, a senior at the school, put 50 students on Halo 3 sessions, which ran 20, 40 or 60 minutes, according to Deseret News . Members have already made a visual responsiveness to test their gaming session, and were invited to take it again after Halo 3.

Peterson reported on the results, we found a significant increase in the ability to notice changes in the field of view after playing a video game. Visual response and vigilance also increased significantly when compared before and after the game visual test results. Time spent playing Halo 3, does not seem to affect the visual test results.
